Having worked for ten years with his brother at Weider Autobody in Maryville, Ed feels that starting his own shop is the next logical step. His passion for repair and a service-oriented profession makes it a great fit for him.
Ed heard about the availability of assistance from Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation (NWMEF) from a friend. He says that Facilitator has been helpful in getting the business organized, especially with advertising and marketing. In planning for a successful enterprise, he understands that he should starting out small and build in ever bigger and better steps as time goes on. “I will build a strong foundation and then use that to push towards gaining a bigger customer base.”
Ed shares these words of wisdom for others who might be planning a business venture: “Have a passion for what you do. You will have the best luck if you work for yourself. Follow your dreams. Work hard for what you want.” Ed admits that there were struggles along the way to creating this business, but has been able to leap each hurdle, which has given him an even deeper sense of satisfaction.
