Rock Port, Mo. – Owner, Stephanie Jakub, recently opened EM’s Emporium, a floral and gift shop in Rock Port, Missouri.
“I have added helium balloons and continue to provide floral, gifts, candy, and home décor,” Ms. Jakub said, “I also plan on having craft nights with kids, and adults. My first kid’s craft day was held the weekend before I opened; we did a craft for the Mother’s for Mother’s Day. The kids all did a great job and we all had a great time! “
Mother’s Day was a busy time for the new business and Ms. Jakub is excited for the future of her shop.
“I have always wanted to do something like this. I was at a point in my career that I was ready for a change, this came up and everything fell into place,” she says of her new venture.
Ms. Jakub learned about Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation (NWMEF) and facilitator Keli Morris from another small business owner, Judy Laflin of the Quilter’s Boutique, and is appreciative of the free services NWMEF provides.
“Keli has been a huge help,” Ms. Jakub says, “She has given me tips and ideas on how to make a business successful and helped me set up Quick Books.
